The Queen’s Speech today committed to helping every child fulfil their potential wherever they live – an aim we totally endorse. The legislative programme set out is neither broad nor ambitious enough to deliver this.
We encourage the government to be much bolder and to harness the capability of business and civil society. Only then will we build the skills for the future and create more opportunities for the young people who are at risk of being left further behind.
